Card in a Box Luminary

Cut Paper and Score:

Vellum Cardstock 6” x 10 7/8”
·                                  Score along 10 7/8” @ 2 5/8 , 5 ¼, 7 7/8 & 10 ½

Gold Foil Cardstock – Base – 11” x 1 ½”
             Score along 11 @ 2 5/8 , 5 ¼, 7 7/8 & 10 ½

Gold Foil Cardstock – Top – 11” x 1 ½”
                   1.   Score along 11 @ 2 5/8 , 5 ¼, 7 7/8 & 10 ½
                   2.   Rotate Paper 90 degrees score in half @ ¾”

Gold Foil cut 3 strips – ½” x 4 ¼”
·                                    Score each end of 4 ¼” @ 13/16”

Gold Foil 2 ½” square – for tea light base

·Step By Step:

Once all pieces are cut and scored. Take the Bottom piece and punch using the decorative label punch as shown. With the Decorative Punch center the punch over the first 2 5/8” section and punch about ½” up.

Fold the first punched section over to use as a guide to punch next section.

Fold both the sections over to punch the third section.
You will need to flip the punch around to punch the last section.

This will be the finished bottom.
Now stamp and emboss the vellum with any stamp set – I used the Embellished Ornaments.
Now add Tear & Tape Adhesive to top of the punched bottom piece.
Next adhere the vellum onto the bottom – overlapping ½”. Note: I put a mark on my grid paper at 7” to align the top of the vellum – then put the bottom piece aligned with bottom of grid paper.
Put Tear & Tape Adhesive on the end of the Strips.
Adhere the Stripe #1 in the 3rd section – butting the edge to the far right score line and half over vellum and half over the bottom piece.

Now attached the next 2 stripes behind the 1st stripe.
Fold pieces back flat put Tear & Tape Adhesive one each folded end.
Fold last section over unto the strips.
Now place Tear & Tape Adhesive one the folded edge.
Fold in half to adhere the side of the box.
This is how the box will look when it is open.

Now put Tear & Tape Adhesive on the top and bottom of the top piece –
DO NOT remove strip!
Trim some tabs to each section of the inside flaps. Do not cut the top section.
Remove the back of the Tear & Tape Adhesive and work your way around the box. Note I only remove tape for the outside of the box first. Then I go back pull back off each inside section.
Take the 2 ½” square and place the tea light on it and press and to get the indent of the switch. Then using a hole punch - punch an opening for the switch.

Adhere glue dots to bottoms of the tea light and adhere it to the square with switch over the hole.
Drop the lighted tea light down in the box.

I added a Gold Ornament cut using the Delicate Ornament Thinlits Dies. And a silver foil topper from the dies.

Card can fold to insert into envelope.

Completed Card!
